These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Georgii Shilovskii, an individual developer ("we", "us", "our"), the developer of the Verigate application ("Verigate" or the "App"), contactable at support@shilovskii.dev.
By installing or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use Verigate.
Verigate is a native iPhone ID scanner for age-gated venues, distributed through the App Store. It runs locally on your iPhone — no accounts, no servers, no telemetry. The scanner, the live age/expiry verdict, and the on-device History log are free. "Premium" features (fake-ID detection, the VIP/ban watchlist, Insights, CSV/PDF export, device-to-device list transfer, and unlimited profiles) unlock via a Monthly or Yearly subscription or a one-time Lifetime purchase, priced in the App Store and billed by Apple. Verigate is an assist tool, not a legal guarantee of identity or age — admission and service decisions are always yours. All your data lives on your iPhone; we never receive it and cannot recover it.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above will reflect the current version. Continued use after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
We grant you a personal/business, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Verigate on Apple devices you own or control, in accordance with the App Store Usage Rules and these Terms. You may not redistribute, sublicence, rent, lease, or resell Verigate, nor remove any proprietary notices from it.
Verigate is an assistance tool, not a legal guarantee of identity, age, or document authenticity. The age/expiry verdict is computed from the data encoded in the document's barcode; the "possible fake" indicator is a heuristic consistency check, not a forensic determination, and can produce false positives and false negatives.
You are solely responsible for your own admission, refusal, and compliance decisions and for verifying identity and age to the standard your law and policies require. Do not rely on Verigate as your sole basis for serving or admitting any person. The in-app verdict screens display this assist-tool disclaimer.
You are responsible for using Verigate lawfully, including any laws governing the scanning, processing, retention, or sharing of identity-document or personal data in your jurisdiction (e.g. state ID-scanning and privacy statutes, biometric-privacy laws such as Illinois BIPA, PIPEDA, GDPR/UK GDPR). Where required, you are responsible for providing notice to and obtaining consent from the individuals you scan.
Because the App may scan documents of people who are under the age threshold, you are also responsible for the lawful handling of any data subject, including minors, under applicable law. As between you and us, you are the controller of the data you collect about your guests; we neither receive nor have access to it.
Verigate stores everything it handles locally on your device. We do not collect, receive, or have access to any of it. You are responsible for your own backups and for any consequences of data loss. We provide no recovery mechanism for data lost to device loss, disk failure, software bugs, or your own deletions. See the Privacy Policy for full detail.
You agree not to (a) reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble Verigate except as permitted by applicable law or the App Store EULA, (b) circumvent any technical mechanism that gates Premium features, or (c) use Verigate to violate any law or any person's rights.
Verigate, its source code, branding, and documentation are owned by us and protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws. Verigate uses Apple's frameworks only and bundles no third-party SDKs.
If you send us questions, feedback, suggestions, or bug reports, you agree that we may use them without obligation, attribution, or compensation, for the purpose of operating and improving Verigate.
We may release updates that add, modify, or remove features. We currently target iOS 18 and later; some changes may affect older iOS compatibility. Updates ship through the App Store.
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that any document will be read, that any verdict or fake-ID indication will be accurate, or that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so the above limitations may not apply to you.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR BUSINESS — INCLUDING ANY REGULATORY FINE, PENALTY, OR LIABILITY ARISING FROM ADMITTING OR SERVING ANY PERSON — ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF VERIGATE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY. OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US (THROUGH APPLE) IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you.
You may stop using Verigate and cancel any active subscription at any time. We may terminate or suspend access if you materially breach these Terms or where required by law. Sections 3 through 10 survive termination.
You and we acknowledge that these Terms are concluded between you and us only, and not with Apple Inc. ("Apple"). We — not Apple — are solely responsible for Verigate and its content. To the extent these Terms grant rights or remedies inconsistent with the App Store Terms of Service, the App Store Terms control.
Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance of these Terms, will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary thereof.
Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance and support services with respect to Verigate. Any claim relating to Verigate's failure to conform to any applicable warranty may be directed to Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (where applicable). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to Verigate.
You represent and warrant that (a) you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. government embargo, and (b) you are not listed on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Mexican States (Estados Unidos Mexicanos), without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. The competent courts of Mérida, Yucatán, México shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising under these Terms.
Nothing in this section deprives you of the protection of any mandatory consumer-protection rules of the jurisdiction in which you habitually reside.
We may update these Terms; the Last updated date above will reflect the current version. For questions about these Terms, complaints about the App, or any other inquiry, please contact us:
